Why Event Childcare Could Make Your Next Company Event Better

For most working parents, finding childcare is already a struggle.

You have to find someone you trust. Someone who is available when you need them. Someone who can handle your kids. Someone who fits your schedule, your budget, and your family.

And they might not always be available when you need them to be.

All of that is just for your normal 9 to 5 days. And then there are all the extra things that come up:

The company holiday party.

The networking event.

The work dinner.

The team celebration.

The fundraiser.

So all that work you did to find childcare that works perfectly fine Monday through Friday suddenly doesn't work anymore.

For a lot of parents, that means making a choice, and usually that choice is missing out.

Parents make sacrifices for their kids all the time. Most of the time, they do it gladly. That's part of being a parent. Your kids come first, and sometimes that means saying no to something you would have otherwise said yes to.

But there's a difference between choosing to miss something because your family needs you and missing something because you simply couldn't make the childcare work.

Parents will always have to make some sacrifices for their families. But sometimes, all they need is another option.

Sure, they can skip the event. But that doesn't mean they necessarily want to.

Networking can help someone build relationships at work.

A company dinner can be an opportunity to connect with coworkers and leadership.

A holiday party can be an important part of team bonding.

A conference can create opportunities that don't happen during a normal workday.

Parents shouldn't have to choose between showing up for their careers and showing up for their families.

Pew Research Center's 2026 research found that 54% of working parents say it is difficult for them to balance their work and family responsibilities. Seventy percent say they take care of parenting related tasks while working, while 59% say they take care of work related tasks while spending time with their children.

What if the childcare came to the event?

Now this is where event childcare can change things!

Instead of asking parents to find childcare somewhere else, what if the childcare came to the event?

A professional event nanny can provide care right there at the event!

Parents can attend the dinner.

They can network.

They can participate in the company event.

They can be present for the important moments without having to choose between the event and their family.

And while all that is going on, the kids will be cared for and having fun!

It's giving families a way to show up that might not otherwise be possible. When childcare is available, parents can just show up.

If companies want working parents to actually attend their events, childcare deserves to be part of the conversation.

A parent can want to attend.

They can RSVP yes.

They can be excited about the event.

And then, they realize they also have a child to think about.

But providing event childcare removes one more barrier.

It tells parents that their families were considered when the event was planned.

It says they don't have to choose.

And sometimes, giving a parent that option is the difference between an invitation they have to decline and an event they actually get to enjoy.

Until next time,Kristin 🩷
